Overnight Carpentry Camp

Join us this summer for our first overnight carpentry camp. Participants spend a week working with our amazing staff, fun tools and interesting materials to design and build a Tiny House with a team. You will have the opportunity to create, the support and freedom to fail, and time to connect with others.

Pricing

Camp participants can stay over for the week (in the house or tent camping) or can choose the Day Camp Only option, and just join us for the building portion of the day.

  • $845* - Full Bed
    ($745* - each for Couples sharing)

  • $845* - Camping Spot

  • $645 - Day Camp Only (not staying overnight)

    *Price includes all food and beverage and supplies need for the week.

Who is this camp for?

This camp is open to anyone who identifies as non-cisgender male, including women, transgender, non-binary and/or gender nonconforming.

Logistics

Camp participants arrive on Sunday August 23 at 3pm and leave on Saturday August 29 at noon. Days are spent designing, building and taking a mid-week outing to the beach.

Food

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided for our campers and prepared by our camp chef. We work with you to meet your dietary needs and provide healthy, nourishing food.

Lodging

Sitting on three quarters of an acre in beautiful Walnut Creek, DWD headquarters has two bedrooms and options for camping in the backyard. The house also has a backyard bbq, access to local hiking trails and is accessible by BART.

Walnut Creek is 30 minutes away from San Francisco and 20 from Oakland, and is accessible by BART.

Hiking and Walking Trails

DWD headquarters has beautiful neighborhood walking, as well as access to a local walking and biking trail.

COVID-19 Requirements

We are limiting this camp to 6 people. All participants are required to wear a mask while building, as well as be in full health and not exposed to anyone who has shown symptoms, or had COVID-19.

Schedule

Sunday 8/30

Get oriented to the house (workshop, lodgings bathrooms, kitchen, etc.) do a short tool training and project, then wind down with dinner and hang out time with other campers.

Monday 8/31

Work on our tiny house design, take a break for lunch and a swim, then build until dinner!

Tuesday 9/1

Building (with our regular lunch & swim break)

Wednesday 9/2

* Go to the beach for the day!

Thursday 9/3

Building (with our regular lunch & swim break)

Friday 9/4

Final Build Day & BBQ Celebration Dinner

Saturday 9/5

Deconstruct everything we’ve built, say our good byes and head home
