Empowering youth to know they can.
While most of our programs are geared towards adults, we recognize that inclusion starts early. That is why we provide youth programs that empower kids with real building skills. Our founder’s work with organizations like Tinkering School has developed her leadership and teaching skills such that our team can provide the best collaboration and hands-on building for youth.
AfterSchool Programs
There truly is no experience like building with kids, where you can learn how to make mistakes and recover from them. Kids are unfortunately often taught not to mess up, and even worse, to avoid taking responsibility when they do. Dykes With Drills is out to change that. We offer after school programs that focus on learning from failure, taking responsibility and collaborating while teaching our youth participants how to use tools and build together.
Please Note: Our youth after school program is limited to 6 participants this fall due to restrictions for COVID.
Queer Family Summer Camp
In addition to our youth after school programs we offer a building summer camp for queer families. Parents get to work alongside their children, learning how to navigate the world of power tools and building together. Our instructors are incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to working with tools and families, and can help any parent child team learn the best way to teach, and use tools themselves.
